There are only 54 more days until Spring, that means that you still have 1296 hours or 77,760 minutes to spend on cleaning out your closet for an update. If you really have no clue what to expect, I have done the work for you in finding out what trends await us this Spring.
Camo print again?

Ami, Valentino and Belstaff featuring camo print as an accent to solid base colors of white, navy and oxblood. |
Contrasting with Neutrals

Iceberg, Jil Sanders, Ports 1961 |
Accenting a light neutral with a darker neutral seems to be an on going trend. Classic pairings of white with navy blues, reminiscent of a sailor look. For an easy out-the-door yet off the runway look, pair white bottoms with a solid plain navy, forest green or nude tee. For those of us with medium to olive toned skin, make sure that the shade of nude you are wearing is not too close to your skin tone.
50 Shades of White

Dolce & Gabbana, Ports 1961, Jil Sanders, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton |
Full white suits ranging from snow white to washed out custard are accented by dusty blacks and even more white. Double breasted blazers and cigarette fit trousers with cropped bottoms. Wearing all white is pretty intimidating, you can work your way up by pairing white trousers with a pastel colored blazer for a clean Easter look. When fit right, double breasted blazers can be slimming but are more suited for medium to tall builds.
Cool Navy Blues

Balmain, Hermès, Marc Jacobs |
Shades of navy have also appeared on the runways. Looking through most of the collections, I can say that it has been a prominently used color among many designers for this season. It's a color that's easy to pair with as it can be dressed up or down, it's also quite slimming. I can't stress enough how every man needs a pair of dark navy jeans in their wardrobe.
Other trends are leather portfolio's and fold-able bags. Get yourself a nice trench coat as well, they are always trendy for Spring.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Be on the look out for more trend reports by yours truly.
On one hand I am totally taken in with the white trend, but I think it needs to progress a bit faster in the UK.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand the camo print needs to be taken away already. I understand it is part of a main trend in the fashion world, but it gets boring after a while!
Love the post.
